Mini Miracles Campaign 2015

Working with the Emerging Media and Experiential Marketing teams, my role as senior digital designer was to design and build a WordPress landing page for the Mini-Miracles Campaign launched Christmas 2015.

WordPress Blog

Landing page designed and developed for WordPress integration with the blog. Installed specialized hub that funneled content from various social media channels targeted to the campaign. Designed and created dynamic guage for content managers to continually update the number of mini-miracles counted.

Revenue

Mini-Miracles blog landing page contributed to a total of $898,000 in revenue.

Team execution

Worked with many stakeholders and 3rd party media developers to design and manage page content.

Shorty Award Winner

Campaign winner in the best Physical and Digital Convergence award for creatively integrating social media platforms with physical technologies.

Global Awareness

Campaign involved mini-miracle contributions from all over the globe including a feature on the Ellen Degeneres Show and 10 minute exclusive coverage on CBC’s The National.

Page Views

The blog landing page and blog received over 700,000 views the day the campaign was run.

Campaign Design Work

There were lots of factors to consider when creating designs for sales and promotions.
As Senior Digital Designer I worked with many stakeholders to deliver a complex set of assets in a tight deadline.

WestJet’s 2017 Black Friday Sale was one of the most successful seat sales.

Placement

Image assets were created, cropped and optimized for several positions on the website including the home page, seat sale landing pages, and other low fares pages on the website.

Schedule

Work back schedules for many of the deliverables were 2-4 weeks depending on the project. Most seat sales ran every 2 weeks so the time for delivery was usually 1 week.

Market Segments

The content was targeted to users on the website based on language preference, geographical location and membership level.

Social Media

Design assets were created for the major social media channels including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The images were created for optimal, responsive viewing on each application.

Brand Guide

For any design deliverables within the company there were brand guidelines that were followed and approved by the brand team.

Paid Advertising

Design deliverables were also required for paid ad banner promotions. These were a variety of sizes and were sometimes animated.

Blue Jays Fanwagon

This was a fun project to be a part of! WestJet is an official sponsor of the Blue Jays and they teamed up with the pro baseball team on game days to offer up to 10 lucky fans a ride to the game in a fancy van. They would also receive invitations to hang out in the WestJet Flight deck.

In order for fans to see where the van might be they had to follow the hashtag for the #WestJetFanwagon on instagram.

Designed the landing page considering identity guidelines, projects specifications for fast load times and ease of maintenance.

Developed full-width WordPress template with PHP, HTML and CSS.

Integrated the social media hub to capture posts related to that hashtag, included Instagram, facebook and Twitter.

Approvals required through various WestJet meetings with stakeholders.
